Any Size Bellows

(X) Any Size Bellows.jpg

We manufacture bellows expansion joints – from synthetic materials, stainless steels or high-performance alloys – in any size to meet your specific application needs. Whether for large industrial ducting or compact systems, our custom-designed bellows ensure micro-flexibility, thermal expansion compensation, pressure-resistance and vibration control in demanding industries such as power generation, petrochemical, industrial piping systems and more.

What 'Any Size Bellows' Covers

Small bellows for instrumentation, valves and other compact equipment.

Small and miniature bellows:

  • Instrumentation, valves and actuators;

  • Laboratory and research applications;

  • Compact machinery where envelope is restricted;

  • And more.

Medium-size bellows for standard bellows expansion joints and flexible connectors

Medium-size bellows:

  • Standard pipework bellows expansion joints;

  • Pump suction/discharge connections;

  • Flexible bellows connectors on equipment nozzles;

  • And more.

Large and extra-large bellows for pipelines, ducting, exhaust systems.

Large and extra-large bellows:

  • Ducting and flue systems in power generation and CHP;

  • Engine and turbine exhaust bellows;

  • Large-bore pipelines requiring pipeline expansion joints;

  • And more.

If your project involves multiple sizes (for example, small bellows on equipment and large bellows in the main line), we can support a complete package.

How We Size Bellows To Your Application

We tailor bellows size and geometry to each application by considering the following factors:

Physical Size

• Inside diameter: from small-bore instrument bellows to large-diameter bellows for process, power and ducting systems

• Outside diameter: how large the unit would be with ply thickness and restraints factored in

• Length: from short compensators to long axial bellows and multi-bellows arrangements

End Connections and Interfaces

• Flanged ends, drilled to international or client-specific standards

• Weld ends for direct welding into pipework

• Threaded ends or custom interfaces for equipment and enclosure connections

Geometric Constraints

• Shapes: circular bellows as standard; rectangular and square bellows available via dedicated rectangular/fabric product lines

• Available installation space and envelope for the bellows and associated hardware

Operating Conditions and Media

• System pressure and temperature

• Media conveyed: steam, gas, chemicals, exhaust, slurry, etc.

Movement Capability and Fatigue Life

• Required movement type: axial, lateral, and/or angular

• Magnitude of movement in each direction

• Number of operating cycles (fatigue life requirements)

Codes, Standards, and System Loads

• Required standards, approvals and testing regimes

• Resulting loads on anchors, guides and equipment nozzles, optimised to remain within allowable limits

Our engineers use these inputs to optimise bellows size and configuration to achieve the required movement and service life while maintaining acceptable system loads and compliance with applicable standards.

Bellows Types Selected By Size

We will select the bellows type based on how big or how small it needs to be (among many other factors):

Manufacturing Methods For Any Size:

Small;

  • high-precision CNC machining

  • expert microscopic welding

  • high-quality strong material

Large;

  • double-assemblies can be larger than single-assemblies

  • hinged, tied and shrouded assemblies can endure more weight than unrestrained assemblies

  • heavy-duty fabrication of multiple large components

  • high-quality strong material

Size-oriented specifications we need from you

What we need from you to design and manufacture the right size bellows for you:

  • Line size and preferred bellows diameter range

  • Available envelope (length, width, height, if rectangular, any other constraints)

  • Operating pressure and temperature

  • Media (e.g. steam, exhaust gas, air, water, oil, chemical)

  • Required movements (axial, lateral, angular) and expected cycles

  • Bellows type preference if known (metal, rubber, fabric, PTFE)

  • Required end connections (flanged, weld ends, threaded, special)

  • Any required testing (NDT, pressure, helium leak, fatigue, etc.)

Send your drawing or basic data and our team will advise the most suitable bellows type and size.

FAQS About 'Any Size Bellows'

Do you have standard bellows sizes, or are they all custom? We offer both. We have a standard range of bellows sizes for common duties, and we also design custom-size bellows where standard dimensions are not suitable.

What is the maximum diameter bellows you can manufacture? We can manufacture large and extra-large bellows for ducting and pipeline duties. Please contact us with your required size and duty so we can confirm feasibility.

Can you make very small bellows? Yes. We produce small bellows and miniature bellows for specialised duties, subject to manufacturing limits and application requirements.

Which materials are available for Any Size Bellows? We supply metal bellows, rubber bellows, fabric bellows and PTFE bellows, selecting materials based on temperature, pressure, media and required life.

Do you only supply bellows in the UK? No. While we are a UK bellows manufacturer, we supply projects worldwide.
