What Is FastTrack?

When you choose FastTrack, your requirement is moved to the front of the queue across:

  • Custom engineering and bespoke design (feasibility, duty confirmation, risk points);

  • Quoting and pricing (expedited and accurate cost estimation);

  • Material procurement prioritisation (materials and critical components);

  • Manufacturing scheduling (welding, fabrication and machining);

  • Inspection and testing (to the scope defined by your specification);

  • Release and transit (express delivery anywhere in the world).

It’s designed for urgent, real-world scenarios such as shutdown windows, unplanned failures, and late design changes that can otherwise stop commissioning.

When FastTrack Is The Right Choice For You

FastTrack is best suited to situations like:

  • Unplanned failure of an expansion joint or bellows element;

  • Plant downtime where every day has a measurable cost;

  • Shutdown windows with immovable restart dates;

  • Late-stage project changes where pipework movements or alignment conditions have changed;

  • Emergency replacement when you need a safely engineered solution quickly.

If you have time to optimise cost and lead time normally, standard ordering is often the better route - if so, go to our Contact page.

What We Can FastTrack

FastTrack can be applied to the urgent manufacture and supply of all of our products:

  • Metal expansion joints (axial, universal, hinged, tied, gimballed, restrained configurations as required, formed or welded);

  • Metal bellows (formed or welded bellows elements, duty dependent);

  • Rubber, fabric and PTFE bellows (synthetic configurations for any specification or condition);

  • Other flexible connectors and related urgent movement solutions (such as flexible hoses);

  • Emergency and retrofit-friendly solutions where access is restricted (case dependent) such as clam-shell bellows, ideal for urgent repair and replacement.

If your emergency is driven by access constraints (for example, pipework can’t easily be dismantled), tell us up-front so we can assess the most practical approach early.

How FastTrack Works Step-By-Step

1) Fast feasibility check

We confirm whether the request is feasible for emergency supply given:

  • duty conditions (pressure, temperature, media);

  • movement requirements;

  • envelope and interfaces;

  • any mandatory testing or documentation requirements.

2) Rapid specification confirmation

We align the design intent to ensure the component matches the system movements or restraint conditions.

3) Priority design and manufacture

Your job is prioritised through design and production to achieve the shortest feasible turnaround. Turnaround depends on complexity, materials availability and specification scope.

4) Inspection, testing and release

Where required by your specification, we plan the necessary inspection and test scope into the programme rather than leaving it as a late surprise.

5) Dispatch and handover

We release with the agreed documentation package and provide any practical install notes required for correct fit-up.

Testing & Documentation On FastTrack Jobs

FastTrack is certainly compatible with inspection and testing requirements, just tell us what your requirements are from the start and we will build it into the plan.

Depending on duty and specification, this can include (as required):

  • Weld Inspection;

  • Helium Testing;

  • Pressure Testing;

  • Ultrasonic Testing;

  • X-Ray Testing;

  • EJMA Membership;

  • ISO Certifications;

  • Type Approvals;

  • And more...

The key is: tell us what the project requires at the start; we’ll build it into the FastTrack plan.

Common Pitfalls We Help You Avoid

FastTrack is designed to be fast, but certainly not careless. In urgent situations, common failure risks include:

  • ordering a joint for the wrong movement direction;

  • underestimating misalignment in ‘as-installed’ pipework;

  • not accounting for pressure thrust and restraint strategy;

  • overlooking envelope restrictions that make installation impossible inside the shutdown window.

Our priority engineering triage is there to reduce these risks before metal is cut.

What We Need From You To Move Fast

FastTrack speed comes from removing ambiguity early. The fastest route to quotation and manufacture is:

  1. Drawing or sketch (preferred: GA/isometric, envelope, interfaces) or other specifications;

  2. Line size and end connections (flanges, weld ends, mating details);

  3. Operating/design pressure and temperature (include transients if relevant);

  4. Media (steam, exhaust gas, air, water, oil, chemical, etc.);

  5. Required movements (axial, lateral, angular) and any known misalignment;

  6. Any vibration or pulsation concerns (especially near rotating equipment);

  7. Required inspection/testing scope and documentation expectations;

  8. The reason it’s urgent (shutdown date, failure mode, commissioning deadline).

If you don’t have movements quantified, send what you have (layout, photos, constraints) and we’ll guide what’s needed for a safe decision.

FAQs About 'FastTrack'

Is FastTrack only for emergencies? Yes. FastTrack is intended for genuine emergency requirements and is thus offered at a premium price.

What products can be supplied using FastTrack? FastTrack is used for urgent manufacture and delivery of bellows, expansion joints and other flexible connectors or piping, metallic or non-metallic, subject to feasibility and specification scope.

How fast can FastTrack deliver? FastTrack aims to achieve the shortest feasible turnaround, but timing depends on design complexity, materials availability, and inspection or testing requirements – we have finished complex orders in as little as a week, simpler orders within days.

What should I send to get a FastTrack quote quickly? Send a drawing or sketch, or at least specifications such as duty conditions (pressure, temperature, media), required movements, interfaces, as well as any mandatory inspection or documentation requirements.

Does FastTrack include testing and documentation? It can, as required by your project specification, but the scope must be agreed early because it can affect the programme.
