Industrial metal piping systems designed for fluid transport, pressure containment and structural durability

Metal Piping

We provide durable metal piping solutions for high-pressure, high-temperature industrial applications. Our stainless steel and nickel alloy pipes offer excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Ideal for integration with bellows, flanges and flexible hoses – which Teddington also supplies – our metal piping is used in power plants, chemical processing, oil and gas and HVAC systems and so much more, requiring optimal performance.

What We Mean By Metal Piping

On this page, Metal Piping refers to rigid pipework and metal piping assemblies - not just a length of pipe. We support customers who need:

  • Pipe spools and welded pipework assemblies built to drawings;

  • Engineered pipework connections to equipment and skids;

  • Metal piping integrated with movement solutions, where thermal growth, vibration or misalignment must be managed;

  • Fabricated piping for systems where quality documentation, inspection and traceability matter.

If your search was for “metal piping”, “metal pipework”, “pipework fabrication” or “welding and fabrication services” related to pipe systems, this is the capability page that matches that intent.

Metal Piping Assemblies We Supply

We manufacture piping and pipework assemblies for a broad range of industrial duty conditions, including:

  • Pipe spools and fabricated pipework;

  • Prefabricated spools for faster site installation;

  • Welded pipe assemblies with engineered end preparations;

  • Integration points for valves, instruments and equipment connections;

  • High-integrity metal piping for demanding service;

  • Pipework designed for high temperature or cyclic operation;

  • Fabrications for vibration-sensitive machinery connections;

  • Assemblies requiring controlled geometry and repeatable fit-up.

Metal piping with movement control (where required)

Pipework often needs flexibility to avoid transferring loads to equipment nozzles, anchors and supports. Where required, we engineer assemblies that incorporate:

  • Metal bellows elements (flexible metallic bellows);

  • Metal expansion joints (complete assemblies with hardware);

  • Guidance on anchors, guides and layout to reduce failure risk.

This integrated approach is especially valuable when projects suffer repeated failures from misalignment, thermal growth, vibration or incorrect restraint design.

Typical Sectors & Applications

Piping can be used in more applications in more sectors than we could possibly put down here. Anywhere fluid is being transferred, you need some form of piping or ducting.

Regardless, here are some examples of the sectors we tend to supply pipework to:

(If you need flexible joints in a pipeline, see Metal Bellows or Metal Expansion Joints.)

Engineering Support (Design Review, Layout and Integration)

Pipework failures are rarely 'just a weld issue'. They’re often caused by loads and movement being managed incorrectly. We support projects with:

  • Review of drawings or specs to confirm fit-up, access and envelope constraints;

  • Guidance on thermal growth allowances and where flexibility is needed;

  • Advice on integrating bellows expansion joints where a rigid line would overload supports or equipment nozzles;

  • Support on pipe routing and restraint strategy (anchors and guides) where required.

If you already have a design, we manufacture to drawing. If you need help validating a layout, we can support with engineering input and verification services.

Supplementary Products for Metal Piping

You may be looking for more than just pipes for your pipeline - you may need flexible connectors to ensure the durability, longevity and reliability of you critical systems. Teddington offers a wide range options, specialising in flexible bellows and expansion joints to allow flexibility in your pipeline, and offers the full range of additional machined components and connectors to bring it all together.

Quality, Inspection & Documentation

For many industrial, marine, offshore and high-integrity projects, traceability and inspection are as important as fabrication. Depending on requirements, we can support:

  • Weld inspection and verification in line with project specs;

  • Non-destructive testing (NDT) where specified (including X-ray where required);

  • Pressure testing and leak testing where applicable to assemblies;

  • Documentation packs aligned to customer and project requirements (materials, inspection, testing, traceability).

(Exact inspection/testing scope depends on your specification, service duty and sector requirements.)

How To Request A Quote (What We Need)

To quote for metal piping and pipework assemblies, please send:

  1. Drawings (GA, isometrics, spool drawings, P&IDs if relevant);

  2. Material requirements (e.g., stainless steel grades, carbon steel, specialist alloys);

  3. Operating or design pressure and temperature (where relevant);

  4. Any movement or vibration concerns (especially on equipment connections);

  5. Required end connections and interfaces (flanges, weld preps, instrumentation points);

  6. Required inspection and testing (NDT, pressure test, leak test) and documentation expectations;

  7. Quantity and delivery expectations (single spool vs multiple assemblies).

If you’re unsure whether you need a rigid spool alone or an assembly that includes movement control, we can advise based on duty and layout.

FAQs About 'Metal Piping'

Do you supply metal piping only, or complete assemblies? We support both. Many customers need complete pipework assemblies (spools, interfaces and connection points), not just piping.

Can you integrate bellows or expansion joints into piping assemblies? Yes. Where thermal movement, vibration or misalignment must be absorbed, we can integrate metal bellows or metal expansion joints and advise on restraint strategy.

Do you provide welding and fabrication services for pipework? Yes. We provide pipework fabrication as part of our metal piping capability, aligned to project requirements for fit-up, inspection and documentation.

Can you support offshore or deep-sea duty? We supply metal piping and related assemblies for demanding industrial and offshore environments, with material and inspection scope defined by project requirements.

What is the fastest way to get a quotation? Send your drawings and operating conditions along with inspection/documentation requirements. We can then confirm scope and provide a quotation.
